I think, that everybody sometimes tried to hide some secret files. But Windows doesn’t have this possibility. So, how to solve this problem?

TrueCrypt

I using program TrueCrypt. It works like virtual device (HDD – harddisk).  At the begging you just create one file (for example choose 20GB). If you want use data from this file, you’ll use TrueCrypt to mount this file like another disk and load/delete/use data from this disk and after work simply unmount this device. The size of this encrypted file is still the same (it doesn’t matter if you have in this file saved 2GB or 20GB).

Creating “the file”

I’ll skip part, when you creating this magic file, where is everything saved. It’s intuitive. I’ll skip to part, where I using it. Enjoy!

Let’s do it!

As you can see, I have only 3 items. So let’s start!

Now I went to my desktop. This is part of it (two icons). So, doubleclick.

This is main window of TrueCrypt. I can choose one of letters (name of future virtual disc). Click at “N” and click at “Mount“.

Now is time to write your secret password and click “OK“.

And thats it! As you can see, I have new HDD – “N“. It’s very very simple and very useful. If want hide some files, use TrueCrypt.
